"The 10th Anniversary of the Beatification of John Paul II" is the first collector banknote of the Mint of Polonia that was made by the Polish Security Printing Works. Many security features were used to make it: - it is made of paper with two types of security fibres inserted,- it is devoid of optical brighteners, which made it possible to place graphic elements visible only under UV light,- the images of St. Pope John Paul II on the obverse and the Eagle on the reverse were made using intaglio printing technique- recto verso was used, i.e. the graphics seemingly do not show any content, but when viewed against the light they form a coherent whole. The obverse of the banknote features an image of Pope John Paul II wearing his liturgical dress and making a blessing gesture. On the reverse there is an image of the Basilica Minor of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Wadowice, John Paul II's hometown, a quotation from the Pope's message delivered during the World Day of Peace in 2002, and the crowned eagle accompanying the Mint of Poland's products, referring to the eagle of Sigismund Augustus of 1568 as the symbol of the Polish state.  On May 1, 2011, John Paul II was beatified during a Mass in St. Peter's Square in Rome. The service was led by Pope Benedict XVI. The number of believers participating in the service is estimated at 1.5 million people. The reliquary containing the Pope's blood was brought by French nun Marie Simon-Pierre Normand, who was healed by the Blessed.
