The National Bank of Poland has issued a coin commemorating the 450th anniversary of the Polish Post.
On the obverse, at the bottom right, there is an image of an eagle established as the national emblem of the Republic of Poland, on the background of a fragment of a postage stamp. In the centre, there is a stylised postage stamp with a fragment of an image of a watercolour depicting a change of horses at a postal station. The reverse shows a stylised image of a 19th century postal messenger on horseback on a bridge. Below it, there is a stylised image of the coat of arms of the Republic of Poland from the times of King Zygmunt August. On the left-hand side there is a fragment of a stylised image of Wawel Cathedral and Wawel Royal Castle. On the right-hand side there is a stylised fragment of St Mark's Square in Venice and outlines of fragments of two gondolas.
