The American Eagle is a gold investment coin with a weight of one ounce and a sample of 916 gold. It is produced from 22 carat gold, and contains a small admixture of silver and copper. This small admixture of other metals than gold contributes to the strength and colour of the coin. This is a popular investment coin, minted by United States Mint. The Personification of Freedom is an integral part of the history of the United States. This coin is a full legal tender in the USA and has a government guarantee as to its legality and purity of the bullion. An interesting fact is that the "American Eagle" is minted with an inverted stamp - the obverse is 180 degrees inverted to the reverse. The reverse of the coin depicts the personification of Liberty and Liberation, walking with the attributes of peace: an olive branch and a torch. At its feet you can see the seat of the U.S. Congress, and in the background, sunshine. On the obverse there is an image of an eagle landing in the nest, designed by American sculptor Miley Tucker-Frost. In addition, it contains the following maxim contained in the Declaration of Independence: "In God We Trust" and "E pluribus unum".
