A silver coin, perfect as a gift for an art and history lover. It is decorated with an amber insert and the mintage was limited to 550 pieces. It depicts the famous painting "Self-Portrait at Twenty-Eight" by Albrecht Durer.
This picture was painted by the German painter and graphic artist, Albrecht Dürer. The work is one of three surviving self-portraits made by Dürer. The self-portrait was painted in 1500, just before the painter's 28th birthday. The depiction of the figure refers to medieval images of Christ the Saviour, but in a symmetrical pose and looking directly at the viewer. Following these Gothic iconographic patterns, Dürer raises his hands to the middle of his chest as if in an act of blessing. This is the only example of this type of portrait in the history of art.
