Another coin joined the "Artist Breaking the Rules" series.  Gustav Klimt - an outstanding artist who created a new kind of beauty and revolutionized 20th century art. Gustav Klimt (1862-1918) was an Austrian painter, printmaker and symbolist. He created works such as The Kiss, Medicine, Virgins, and Roses Among the Trees. The artist set himself the goal of creating a total work of art, an absolute, that is, completely free from the limitations imposed by academic concepts. His work is an inspiration for contemporary artists, which is why his reproductions are often hung on the walls of modern homes. Beethoven Frieze is a painting by Gustav Klimt that is displayed in the Secession building in Vienna. It was painted in 1901 for the 14th Vienna Secessionist exhibition devoted to the composer, which featured a monumental polychrome sculpture by Max Klinger. The frieze, intended only for the exhibition, was painted directly on the walls with bright materials. After the exhibition the painting was conserved, but it was not exhibited again until 1986.
