An interesting coin depicting one of the most sacred and valuable artifacts of the Incas - the Golden Disc. Legend has it that it came from heaven and was fished out of Lake Titicaca. The Incas believed that it could heal any wound, stop time and prevent or even cause an earthquake. The Incas placed it in their Temple of the Sun in the Peruvian city of Cusco. To this day, it is not known what happened to the disk and where it is located. One theory says that the Incas hid it high in the Andes Mountains from the Spanish conquistadors. Another theory says that the disk was carried to Lake Titicaca, where it was hidden in an underwater temple. Still others believe that it was taken by the Spaniards and melted down.  CIT created a coin that depicts this mystical Golden Disc. It has been struck from 1 ounce of silver and fully plated in gold. Limited edition - only 2021 pieces were created!
