The colour-highlighted motif comes to the fore visually, especially its antler-like enlarged mandibles, to which the beetle owes its name, stand out against the oak leaves background. The obverse shows an eagle, the lettering "FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF GERMANY", the value number and denomination, the year 2024, the twelve stars of Europe and the mint mark.
