This charming silver coin features a colourful image of Father Frost. It was struck from 1 ounce of pure silver. It comes in a very interesting packaging, stylized as a matrioshka.
It is a perfect idea for a Christmas gift!
Father Frost is originally a character from Eastern Slavic folklore, popularised during the Soviet era as the secular equivalent of Father Christmas, with whom he is sometimes confused. Grandfather Frost appears on New Year's Day to give presents to children. His granddaughter is Snowflake. During the Stalinist period, his territory was extended to other Eastern Bloc countries, including Poland. Since 2005, Grandfather Frost's birthday, which falls on 18 November, has been celebrated in Russia. The celebrations take place in the village of Velikoye Ustiug in the northern part of Russia, which is considered to be the home of Grandfather Frost. In the southern part of the Belovezhskaya Pushcha, on the Belarusian side, near the village of Kamenyuki, there is one of the biggest local attractions - the headquarters of Grandfather Frost.
