A beautiful coin of the Mint of Poland, struck from 2 ounces of pure silver. The reverse presents the image of a phoenix. Selected elements were coloured, thanks to which the phoenix gained a fairy-tale look. The coin comes in an elegant display case.  The phoenix is a mythical bird, regarded as a symbol of the Sun and the eternal rebirth of life. It appeared under various names. In ancient Egypt it was called benu, it was a sacred bird, originally imagined as a wagtail, and then in the likeness of a heron or a golden falcon with a heron's head. With the Egyptians it symbolised immortality and spiritual transformation. Through the Greeks, Romans and Christians, this association with continual renewal was transferred to the symbol of a creature that dies at intervals to rise again.
