The second coin in the "Vikings" series, which will consist of 5 issues.
Freydís Eiríksdóttir was a Norwegian woman, daughter of Eric the Red, who is associated with the exploration of North America by the Norwegians and the discovery of Vinland by his son Leif Erikson. This woman is mentioned in two Vinland sagas: the Saga of Greenland and the Saga of Erik the Red. Freydís is portrayed in them as a strong woman who defies adversity. She is known for the battle of Vinland. The natives attacked the Vikings at night, and many of them panicked at the sight of their lowly weapons. As the men fled during the confusion, Freydís, who was eight months pregnant, admonished them and moved on the attacking natives.
The coin is characterised by high relief and selective gilding. The reverse of the coin shows Freydis preparing to attack. The obverse is uniform throughout the series, depicting runic writing.
Each coin is packed in a beautiful wooden case with a certificate of authenticity.
