Another coin from the "Treasures of World Painting" series.
The magnificent work of the Dutch painter has found its way into the world of numismatics. This silver, one ounce coin is a perfect gift for every art and painting enthusiast. The image was printed on the coin thanks to the use of UV printing. Selective gilding of the frame and its ornaments emphasizes the beauty of the picture.
Irises is a picture painted by the Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh in 1889, during his stay in a psychiatric hospital. It was painted a year before his suicide in 1890. Irises, like a large number of paintings of the time, was inspired by the Japanese painterly art of Ukiyo-e. The first owner of the painting was the art critic and one of Van Gogh's first fans, Octave Mirbeau, who purchased Irises for 300 francs.
