She is often depicted as an elderly woman, with a snake on her head. Popular were pilgrimages of women to the island of Cozumel and to Isla Mujeres, which became places of worship of this goddess. Ix Chel, through her own experience, was a goddess who knew the hardships of earthly life, real relationships and the suffering that a loved one inflicts. She taught how to love, how to take care of oneself in love and to find harmony between loneliness and devotion. The coin was minted from pure silver.
