An interesting coin in an unusual shape!

The Chinese dragon is a creature from Chinese mythology. Usually depicted as a long, snake-like creature with large claws, it has long been a symbol of the power to bring good luck, firmly rooted in Chinese folklore and art. It also personifies the concept of yang. Many Chinese use the term "Descendants of the Dragon" as their ethnic identification. Many Chinese proverbs and idioms refer to the dragon, for example the saying "To desire a child to become a dragon" refers to parents who have exorbitant ambitions for their children.

The coin is struck in the shape of a dragon hatching from an egg. Its eyes are refined to the finest detail. The body of the baby dragon remains comfortably curled up, and there are fine indentations on the egg shell to symbolise the hatching process.

The obverse depicts legal tender.
