In 2006, the National Bank of Poland launched the issue of the "History of Polish Riding" series, the aim of which was to present Polish military formations and types of armaments over the centuries. So far, five coins have been issued in the "History of Polish Riding" series: in 2006: The Piast Rider in 2007: Heavy-armed knight of the XV century in 2009: Hussar of the 17th century in 2010: Chevalier of the Emperor Napoleon I Guard in 2011: Ulan of the Second Republic of Poland The obverse presents the image of the eagle established as the emblem of the Republic of Poland. Below the eagle there are images of two spearheads on the spars. On the reverse side, in the central part, there is a stylized image of an armored horse team member with an exposed sword and a shadow of an armored horse team member holding a spear in the background. The chronicles (e.g. Galla Anonima) state that Mieszko I had an armored team of three thousand warriors, while the army of his successor, Bolesław Chrobry, consisted of 2800 armored and 9000 shields. The army consisted of armored warriors and the common move. Unlike armored warriors, i.e. the regular army, the common movement was less well armed. In fact, it did not receive any weapons, because everyone fought with what they had or what they managed to get (as loot) during the fighting. It happened that warriors consisting of the common movement fought with agricultural tools, which they took away from the house, that is with spears, axes, truncheons. The same thing happened among other European tribes.
