Juno is the fourth coin in the series of oxidised twoounce coins "Roman Gods".
Juno - Roman goddess, spouse of Jupiter. In the scope of her powers and duties she resembled Hera. She was the protector of women's lives, including sexual life and motherhood. She belonged to the Capitoline Trinity, which also included the god Jupiter and the goddess Minerva.
The reverse of the coin depicts the goddess, around whom her attributes, including a goose, have been placed.
The obverse shows Queen Elizabeth II, the name of the series, the issuer, the denomination and the type and sample of bullion. At the bottom of the obverse is an image of the temple of Juno the Coin (Latin: Templum Iunonis Monetæ), which was an ancient Roman temple located in the center of Rome. Due to the lack of traces and scanty information on its exact location, the temple is considered an enigma in the topography of ancient Rome. However, all agree that it stood on top of the citadel rather than on the other two areas of the hill.
