Another coin joined the "Discover Poland" series. This time it presents St. Mary's Church in Krakow.
This church is located next to the main square. For over 800 years it has housed a parish, and the first mention of its existence dates back to the twenties of the 13th century. Sources indicate that its origins are connected with the bringing of the Dominican Order to Krakow by Bishop Iwona Odrowąż. Shortly after the presbytery was built, services started to be held in it, but the rapidly growing number of believers prompted the then church authorities and city rulers to expand the temple.
The reverse of the coin shows a view of the façade of St. Mary's Church in Krakow from the south-eastern side.
