The Kraken is a legendary sea monster of enormous size that is said to inhabit the coasts of Norway and Greenland. It was often described as an octopus-like monster whose tentacles could be mistaken for islands. The legendary sea monster was the inspiration for this item, as it depicts a demonic creature with yellow-green eyes that drags a ship behind it as it crosses the treacherous sea. The obverse depicts the Kraken's tentacles entwining the base of the ship. This 60mm diameter coin, made of pure fine silver, was struck in ultra-high relief, and is decorated with double enamel. Limited mintage - 111 pieces. Each piece is packaged and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
