The "Rainforest" coin is the second issue from the "Our Earth Ecosystems" series. The coin is minted in pure silver and the mintage is limited - only 499 pieces worldwide. It comes in a beautiful box with a Certificate of Authenticity.  The reverse of the coin depicts a rainforest with many colourful animals that live there. The edge of the coin has been coloured green.  The obverse of the coin shows the standard emblem of the Republic of Palau with the inscriptions: "REPUBLIC OF PALAU" (issuing state) and "$10" (denomination). (denomination). A rainforest is a forested ecosystem where it rains heavily throughout the year. If the rainfall is distributed unevenly throughout the year, this may indicate that there is a monsoon forest. Rainforests are also characterised by high biodiversity and abundant animals. The most famous and extensive rainforest in the world is the Amazon forest. It is about the same size as Australia and stretches across Brazil, Venezuela, Bolivia, Guyana, Suriname, Ecuador, Peru and French Guiana.
