Silver coin struck to commemorate Lech Kaczyński. Lech Aleksander Kaczyński - Polish politician and lawyer. President of the Republic of Poland in 2005-2010, an opposition activist in the period of the People's Republic of Poland. President of the Supreme Chamber of Control (1992-1995), Minister of Justice and Attorney General in Jerzy Buzek's government (2000-2001), Mayor of the Capital City of Warsaw (2002-2005), co-founder of the Law and Justice party and its first President (2001-2003), senator of the first term (1989-1991) and member of the Sejm of the first and fourth terms (1991-1993, 2001-2002). He held a postdoctoral degree in law, was an associate professor at Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw and University of Gdańsk, a specialist in labour law. He died in the crash of the government plane Tu-154.
