Another interesting coin of the Mint of Poland. The first coin from the new "Angels and Demons" series.
It was struck in 999 silver and depicts Lucifer, the ruler of hell.
In the foreground there is Lucifer whose wing has pierced an angel. Lucifer's weapon is selectively covered with gold. The fight between the angel and the demon is depicted in the background.
The richly decorated obverse is also beautiful in this coin. It shows an image of both paradise and hell. The mintage of the coin is limited to 500 pieces and it is packaged in a themed box.
Lucifer, also known as Satan or simply the Devil, is considered by many religions to be the supreme ruler of hell and demons. Alternatively, he is also considered to be the living embodiment of evil, whose power is second only to that of God. Although Satan was originally a Judeo-Christian concept, almost all orthodox religions have an evil, god-like (or demigod-like) figure that can be said to be associated with Satan.
