Another coin made entirely of meteorite! This time on the coin was Campo del Cielo, known for its powerful crater. Campo del Cielo is an iron meteorite, fragments of which are found in Argentina. Some of them have a mass of many tons. The object, of which they are fragments, was a small asteroid from the Apollo group, which entered the Earth's atmosphere and disintegrated into parts about 2000 years B.C. The name Campo del Cielo also refers to an area with more than twenty impact craters formed by the fall of this meteorite.
