The Birth of Venus is an extremely famous work of art created by Italian painter Sandro Botticelli. The work was probably painted around 1480 and depicts the goddess Venus arriving on shore after her birth. The work depicts the wind god Zephyr, who helped speed Venus to shore, and she stands next to a giant scallop shell. The coin, which measures 14.5 x 11 cm, uses a new minting technique called "Bi-Metal Max" to give the coin an extraordinary weight while keeping the proportions in line with the actual image. This is made possible by combining 33.5 ounces of copper and 2 ounces of fine silver to create a high relief effect. This is a limited edition of 333 pieces.
