100 years ago, on February 10, 1920, a symbolic "Poland's Wedding to the Sea" took place in Puck to celebrate the inclusion of Pomerania into the borders of reborn Poland. The act was performed by one of the most distinguished Polish commanders, co-founder of the Blue Army of General Józef Haller. On this occasion the National Bank of Poland issued a coin commemorating the act. This two-part silver coin was struck from fine gold. On the reverse side there is an image of General Józef Haller entering Puck on horseback. The addition of amber highlights the maritime character of these events. On the obverse, in turn, the recovered part of Pomerania, limited by the territory of Germany and the Kashubian fisherman, characteristic for the region and the historical period is depicted.
