Another coin in "The Language of Flowers" series.  Flowers have expressed different feelings for centuries; love, desire, friendship, sympathy...Flowers have been and still are used as a universal form of communication. This series of bullion coins shows the important role of flowers in different cultures of the world.  The coin features an image of a rose. As one of the most culturally significant flowers, the rose has played an important role in art, poetry, literature and trade. In all major religions it is associated with love, which has led to its central symbolic meaning in the language of flowers. The rose also symbolises mystery, secrecy and tacit understanding. Selected elements on the reverse side have been covered with colour printing. The obverse of the coin symbolises love, showing a couple looking at each other with flowers in their hair. It is interesting to note that none of the main flower images in this series are based on a drawing or illustration: the starting point for each coin design is a real flower grown in the garden, which is then embossed using a special technique.
