The first coin from the "Real Heroes" series. Many of us dreamed of becoming firemen when we were children. However, this profession requires a lot of dedication and courage. Firefighters risk their lives to fight fires and save people and their belongings. The coin was struck in 3 ounces of silver using the Black Proof stamp. The reverse features a stunning, realistic image of a firefighter from the New York City Fire Department. The number 343 on the helmet honours the firefighters who died in the rescue operation carried out on September 11, 2001, after the attacks on the World Trade Center. These buildings are depicted on the obverse of the coin.
