The first coin of the "Equinox & Solstice" series.
This coin was struck from 2 ounces of pure silver in a mintage of 555 pieces. It is decorated in high relief, which perfectly shows the details of the design. Additionally, a Swarovski crystal has been placed on the obverse.
The reverse of the coin depicts the Temple of Mnajdra in Malta, interpreted as it might have looked 5,000 years ago. On the front, the temple complex in high relief, with the rays of the sun during the equinoxes streaming into the temple. People can also be seen gathering in front of the temple to observe the event. A village with huts, livestock, etc. can be seen in the background.
The obverse, on the other hand, features the interior of the Mnajdra Sun Temple. Around the entrance are various artifacts. A Swarovski crystal symbolising the sun is placed in the entrance, just above the horizon.
