Germany dedicates this 25 euro silver coin to Christmas, one of the most important feasts of Christianity.
The issue features the Schwibbogen and is characterized by its innovative shape - it is the third plate-shaped coin in the history of the Federal Republic of Germany.
The motive of the coin by artist Reinhard Eiber from the City Feucht depicts the Schwibbogen from 1925 and an emblem of two miners with course swords, hammer and mallet. Along the top edge of the coin is the inscription "ERZGEBIRGISCHER SCHWIBBOGEN".
The reverse shows the federal eagle, the words "BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND", the denomination, the mint mark "G" of the mint in Karlsruhe, the year of issue 2023 and the twelve European stars. The Schwibbogen is a decorative candle-holder first made in the 18th century and was initially only used by miners. Today it is already internationally known and an integral part of the Christmas in the Ore Mountains.
