This new coin refers to the iconic game Tetris, which celebrates its 37th anniversary in 2021.  Each coin depicts the famous St Basil's Cathedral, which was featured in an earlier version of the game. Mintages are very limited! Tetris is a computer puzzle game created by Alexei Pazhytnov and his collaborators, Dimitri Pavlovsky and Vadim Geriasimov. It first appeared on the market on June 6, 1984 in the Soviet Union. The game allowed players to complete puzzles in real time as they fell from the top of the board. Originally, the game featured seven distinctive geometric pieces, each consisting of four squares. Pajitnov named this game Tetris, a combination of tetra (the Greek word for four) and tennis (his favourite sport). St Basil's Cathedral, on the other hand, is an Orthodox church located in Moscow's historic Red Square. Built in the 16th century, it is one of Russia's most famous cultural symbols. The opening screen of early versions of the Tetris game features an image of St Basil's Cathedral, a tribute to the country in which the game was created. Whether you're an investor, precious metal collector or Tetris fan, this coin is the perfect souvenir and investment!
