The Royal Tudor Beasts: The Tudor Dragon Miedzionikel 2024 coin is the sixth copy from The Royal Tudor Beasts series. The collector's coin shows the image of one of the ten heraldic Royal Beasts - the Tudor Dragon. Dragons were prominent symbols during the Middle Ages and were used by Owen Tudor, the great-grandfather of Henry VIII. Henry VIII therefore believed this symbol to be related to Cadwaladr, king of Gwynedd in Wales, who reigned around 655-682. According to contemporary manuscripts, the Tudor Dragon had a red head, back and wings, and a golden underside. The product is an interesting start to the series and allows you to become interested in the history of Great Britain.
The entire series will consist of 10 coins showing images of animals - Seymour Panther, The Lion of England, The Bull of Clarence, The Tudor Dragon, The Greyhound of Richmond, The Royal Dragon, The Yale of Beaufort, The Seymour Unicorn, The Queen's Panther and The Queen's Lion.
The coin is minted from a cupro-nickel alloy, weighing 28.28 grams and having a diameter of 38.61 mm. The circulation of the item is unlimited. Moreover, this extraordinary piece was produced by The Royal Mint and has an individual, original packaging.
The obverse shows the likeness of King Charles III of Great Britain and the denomination and year, designed by Martin Jennings.
The reverse shows one of the beasts of the Tudor Kingdom - the Tudor Dragon and the inscription "TUDOR DRAGON" "2024". The reverse was designed by David Lawrence.
