Wanderer Above the Sea of Fog is an oil painting by German Romantic period painter Caspar David Friedrich. It was painted in 1818 and became a hallmark of painting during the Romantic period.  The color scheme of the painting is very clear. Dominated by the colors of blue, white and delicate pink, which reflect the nature of the depicted natural phenomena.
