This silver coin was made with extreme attention to detail. Its diameter is 55 mm and the mintage is only 1500 pieces worldwide. The Royal Canadian Mint once again proves that it can create extraordinary coins. Thanks to the use of modern technology the coin consists of several layers of silver - the cougar stands out clearly from the background, thanks to which it has a realistic look.  The reverse features an image of a puma sitting on a branch, by Canadian artist Denis Mayer Jr. Just behind it is an engraved forest. The obverse features an image of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt. The coin comes packaged with a certificate of authenticity in an elegant box.  The cougar is a wild carnivore inhabiting, among others, Canada. It is the second largest wild cat in the Western Hemisphere (only the jaguar is larger). Thanks to its strong muscles, it can jump to a height of 7 metres and a distance of as much as 12 metres. Interestingly, the cougar is the biggest meowing cat.
