Another coin joined the series "Archeology and Symbolism".
The Dendera Zodiac is a well-known Egyptian relief from the ceiling of the chapel dedicated to Osiris, in the Hathor temple in Dender. It contains images of Taurus and Libra.
The temple was built on the site of an older building, most likely dating back to the time of Cheops. Its ceiling is famous for its round fresco with a symbolic representation of the sky: constellations, planets and stars - this is the so-called Zodiac of Dender (the original is now in the Louvre in Paris, the temple is only a copy).
This coin was struck from 3 ounces of pure silver and gilded. Its unusual shape, large diameter and low mintage make it a perfect item for any collector.
