In the Official Journal of the European Commission (Document 12404/23), there is a description of the motif of the first Finnish commemorative coin with a face value of 2 euros for the year 2024.
The theme of the coin is "Elections and Democracy." On the obverse side of the coin, you will find stylized ballot papers, composed of abstract but recognizable circles and rectangles that partially overlap, creating smaller geometric shapes at the intersections.
Below the motif, the year "2024" is placed, and on the right side, there is the country code "FI" and the Finnish mint mark.
In the upper left corner, there is the inscription "VAL DEMOKRATI" in Finnish, and along the lower right edge, "VAALIT DEMOKRATI" in Swedish.
On the outer edge of the coin, twelve stars of the European flag are presented.
The coin is scheduled to be released in the spring of 2024, with a mintage of 400,000 pieces.
