Spain recently presented a new commemorative coin with a face value of 10 euros, commemorating the 200th Anniversary of the National Police 1824-2024.
The State Security Corps was established by Royal Decree on January 13, 1824, with a mission to guarantee the well-being and public safety of the country, adapting to social changes throughout its history.
The obverse of the coin features, in the foreground and in blue, the logo commemorating the 200th anniversary. It is skillfully placed, emphasizing the colors of the Spanish flag next to the emblem of the National Police 1824-2024.
At the top, in a circular manner, the inscription reads "POLICÍA NACIONAL." At the bottom, the face value of 10 EURO and the mint mark are displayed. Surrounding these elements in a circular fashion are the inscriptions "SERVICIO.DIGNIDAD. ENTREGA. LEALTAD," representing four values that every police officer should embody: service, dignity, dedication, and loyalty.
The reverse of the coin features the new effigy of His Majesty King Felipe VI.
At the top, in a circular and uppercase manner, the inscription reads "FELIPE VI REY DE ESPAÑA," meaning FELIPE VI KING OF SPAIN. At the bottom, between two dots, is the minting year - 2024.
The mirror-stamped 10-euro coin has a limited edition of only 15,000 pieces and is delivered in the original box with a numbered certificate of guarantee and authenticity.
